General Info

How much does the tour cost?

  • The NashTrash Tour price includes sales tax and 10% driver tip: $32 for adults under 55, $30 for age 55 and over, and $29 per person for a weekday tour in January.

NOTE: Effective 2/1/13 the Original Tour price is $35 and $32 for 55+.

How long is the tour?

  • The tour lasts just over 90 minutes.

Where does the tour start?

Tours begin and end at the south end of the Nashville Farmer's Market. See our detailed Directions page to find out where the Big Pink Bus is parked, or use 772 Harrison Street Nashville 37219 to locate the free parking lot entrance closest to the bus.

If you're downtown or in the Gulch, catch the free Music City Circuit to the Big Pink Bus. This PDF shows all the circuit stops and a map…we're in the upper left-hand corner.

Are tours appropriate for children?

The NashTrash Tour is an adults-only tour. No one under 13 years of age is allowed (this includes babies). In fact, you should read online reviews before you book delicate Aunt Gertie or easily shocked coworkers.

How do I pay for the tours?

We do not sell tickets. Instead, we take credit card information to book reservations (the way a hotel would). Pay for the NashTrash Tour when you board the bus, one card per reservation or in cash if paying separately.

What if I still haven't received a confirmation email?

If you reserve an available tour and don't receive a confirmation within at least 3 business days, call the office at (615) 226-7300. Give your name, the tour date you reserved, and a daytime phone number where you can be reached during regular business hours. You do not have a reservation until you reply to a confirmation email.

Schedule & Availability

What does "Available for Public or Private Tour" mean?

This simply means no one has booked a reservation for that tour slot. You can reserve any number of seats you want, or if you have 20-32 people, you have the option of booking the whole bus for a private tour. A public tour with openings will say Seats Available, or may list how many seats are left if the tour is filling up.

Can you add another tour time not already shown on the calendar?

We're very sorry, but no. Please choose a tour from the existing schedules.

What if the tour I want is sold out?

Call (615) 226-7300 and leave a Wait-List message. Tell us which tour, how many seats you need, your name, a cell phone number, and an email address. If there's a cancellation before the day of the tour, Hanley will contact you as quickly as possible.

What if I've called to be on the Wait List but haven't heard from you?

It means nobody on the tour has called to cancel, but there are often a few no-shows as the tour is about to begin. If you're willing to come to the market 20-30 minutes before a tour's start time, knock on the Big Pink Bus door and ask for any No-Show seats.

Being on a Wait List does not give you priority for No-Show seats. This is first-come-first-served for each tour.

How far in advance can I book my reservation?

We don't take reservtions for any tour more than three months in advance; this includes private tours.

Cancellation & Rules

How do I cancel my reservation?

Your reservation has a cancellation deadline based on the number of seats you reserved, and is shown in your confirmation email. As long as you contact us before that deadline, your reservation will be canceled and you will not be charged for the seats. Please cancel by email to ensure a timely notification.

How is the cancellation deadline determined?

Parties of 6 or fewer must cancel at least one week in advance to avoid being charged. For 8 or more in a party, the cancellation deadline is based on the number of seats reserved (for 12 people, cancel at least 12 days before tour date).

If you must cancel after the deadline and we are not able to sell your seats to another party, your card will be charged. Please cancel by email to ensure a timely notification.

What if I'm running late for my tour?

Plan to arrive at the market 30 minutes early to locate us. If you're not at the Big Pink Bus at least 15 minutes before your tour's starting time, you will be considered a No-Show and will be charged for any of your seats that are not sold to someone else.

Can I bring drinks and food on the tour?

Beverages including beer or wine are allowed in six-pack sized coolers only; you must reserve and pay $60 to seat anything you can't hold on your lap. Do not open any drinks until on the bus, or you may be escorted off the Farmers Market premises by Metro Parks police.

You may not bring food of any kind on the bus, but our fancy make-your-own cheese hors d'oeuvres will be served.

What are the Big Pink Bus Rules?

  1. We want everyone to have fun, but if your party gets too noisy and disrupts the tour, performers will give a warning that you're breaking The Cardinal Rule. If the disruption continues, guests may be ejected before the end of the tour.
  2. Still cameras are allowed but video recording is absolutely prohibited.
  3. Cell phones must be on vibrate or off; do not take a call during a tour.
  4. Large hats and feather boas are not allowed on the bus.

Private Tours

Can I have a private tour for my group?

A Private tour can be reserved for any slot on the calendar noted as Available for Public or Private. You must have a minimum of 20 guests and maximum of 32 to have a Private tour.

When can I have a private tour?

  • Seats Available means a public tour is already running in that tour slot.
  • Private means the slot has already been reserved for another private party.
  • Closed means there will be no tour, including private ones.

There may be flexibility with a Private tour starting time. As long as there isn't another tour on the same date, we can schedule a 2pm tour time instead.

How much does a private tour cost?

Privates tours are priced at a flat rate regardless of the number of people on the tour — there is no per-person charge available.

  • Effective February 1, 2013: The all-inclusive private tour price is $1049.60 on weekdays and $1268.80 on weekends.

How do I reserve a private tour?

The reservation process is the same for all tours, whether public or private. The cancellation deadline for private tours is one month, and your tour cannot be guaranteed until we receive a credit card number.

How do I pay for a private tour?

Your credit card will be charged a few days before your tour and you will receive a receipt when you board the bus. You may also pay by check, provided we receive it at least two weeks before the tour date.

What if I don't have 20 people in my group?

If you reserve a private tour and arrive with fewer than 20 people, the tour may be cancelled and your payment will not be refunded. (If you arrive with more than 32 people, somebody will stay behind.)

What if I have more than 32 people in my group?

Our tours run only on the Big Pink Bus, so if you have more than 32 people in your party you'll have to split up (provided there are tour times available). If you want the Jugg Sisters to give y'all a little taste of NashTrash, they can do a private appearance for larger groups. Their 20-30 minute NashTrash standup routine costs $1,000 and is booked just like all our other reservations.

Can you pick up my private group at another location?

For an additional $100 transport fee, we can pick up and/or drop off a private tour group at another spot, but only inside the inner downtown interstate loop (the Opryland Hotel area isn't even close).

If you have any other questions about private tours not answered here, provide an email address when you call and we will contact you.

Do you sell Gift Certificates?

Yes. NashTrash Bus Passes may be purchased through our online Store. After payment is received, your Bus Passes will be emailed to you within 3 business days.

Do the tours run in rain or snow?

The bus is fully enclosed and tours run in all weather except ice and/or snow. If the streets are not safe and your tour must be canceled, someone will call to inform you — that's why it's critical to give us a cell number. We also will announce any cancellation on our outgoing voice message at least 90 minutes before the tour's scheduled start time.

Is the Big Pink Bus wheelchair-accessible?

The Big Pink Bus is an old school bus and does not have wheelchair access. We do put a little step on the ground to avoid a big climb, so if you can make it up the steps with some assistance and are able to sit on a bus seat, we can store a walker or wheelchair in the storage bay.

Is there a place to store luggage while I'm on a tour?

Yes, there is a cargo bay under the bus.

Can I rent the Big Pink Bus for other events or transportation?

No. The Big Pink Bus is used only for tours by NashTrash Inc.
